Holiday Cards and Mech Progress!

Progress-wise, I'm tackling parts of Mechanima in whatever order I can manage to churn out. There's a long ways to go, but it's getting there. I don't think I'm going to have a completed outline draft by end of 2019 like planned, but on the flip side, there are several scenes throughout the arcs that are fully "scripted" with dialogue and action so the goal of having a script draft by mid-2020 is still possible.
+ Outline is now at almost 120 pages (nearly 50,000 words) but that includes production notes that won't be included in the final graphic novel
+ Working on drafting design work for the rest of the cast of characters, species, weapons, vehicles, and locales, in addition to tweaking the main core characters to build out refs
+ Experimenting with some short comic teasers (should have another done this week)
Thanks a ton to everyone who's continued to stick by me through the years (and to a couple new friends too) while I've been off and on this project, definitely dedicated to making this happen sooner than later! I have a few beta readers ready to work on editing the script soon as it's at a stage that makes sense to request feedback, and then after re-drafting it, I'll be working on layouts for the first few chapters. I hope you'll give it a read!
Bringing Mech Back
So a lot has changed. Got an AWESOME new position in a local college, where I feel a real sense of purpose, am learning new tech and skills, and get to both illustrate and, in the future, animate and film/edit video content. It's a very good environment compared to my prior jobs, and it pays more too. A lot more.
I bought a house. Stopped working myself to death with two jobs. Took me 30 years to get here, and it was a ton of work, but I'm so grateful to have made it this far.
My passion for the characters and story I have wanted to tell for over a decade is all flooding back into me. I have this new energy for it that I didn't have for so long. So as a result, I haven't been doing commissions - I've been saving that energy for fueling those characters. I'm writing, dreaming, drawing them. It's all just coming out of me and I can't contain it (ew gross).
So! As some of you friends who have known me for years, you already know that this story (Mechanima) is incredibly personal for me, much more than any personal furry art that I've done. I'll be drawing anthro characters for t-shirts and some other work (including my job - I'm the designer, illustrator and animator for our new college mascot, which I had the honor of creating) so it won't be ALL robros and humans. But there will be a lot of them, hahah.
With 2019 starting, I'm determined to stop living for everyone else so much and to live for me. To get back in touch with friends I love who I've fallen so out of touch with, especially here on DA. I'm going to kick my own ass, physically and mentally. I'm ready to move ahead in becoming the real me, both through my art and through my body. If I can lose weight and build muscle, it'll be time for surgery I've put off for a very long time (which I still have the generous funds people have sent through GoFundMe tucked away, waiting for the right time). Family issues have been difficult and continue to be, but I know I don't have to go through it alone. My mind is in a way better place than it's been in years.
Time to grab 2019 by the balls and make some real shit happen this year.
